What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored in the browser of your device when you visit a website. We use cookies to provide you with the functions of our website and to tailor our website to your interests.
In this Cookie Notice, “cookies” also covers similar technologies that store information on, or gain access to information already stored in, your device — such as pixels and tracking pixels, web beacons, local and session storage, and software development kits. The same legal rules, including the same consent requirement, apply to those technologies as to cookies.
A distinction is made between cookies placed by us, known as “first-party cookies”, and cookies placed by other parties, known as “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies allow the party concerned to receive information about your visit to our website. The parties involved and the purposes for which they use that information are identified in the tables below and in section 3.
We divide cookies into four categories according to their function and intended use: strictly necessary cookies, functionality cookies, performance cookies and marketing cookies. For each category, the table below lists the cookies we use, their purpose, whether they are first- or third-party, who receives the data, and how long they remain on your device.

Which cookies do we use?
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential in order to use the features of our website. Without them, the services you request via the website cannot be provided correctly. They also include the cookie that records your cookie preferences, so that we can respect your choices on your future visits.
Legal basis: no consent is required for these cookies, because they are strictly necessary in order to provide a service that you have expressly requested (Article 129, §2 of the Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications, which implements Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC). In so far as the data collected through these cookies constitutes personal data, we process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, securing and making available our website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can configure your browser to block even strictly necessary cookies (see section 7.2). In that case, however, you may not be able to use our website in the intended manner.

2.2 Functionality cookies
Functionality cookies allow our website to remember the choices you make — such as your language or region, or information you have entered in a form — and to offer you enhanced, more personal features. They are not essential for the website to function.

2.3 Performance cookies
Performance cookies collect data about the use of our website, such as which pages are visited most frequently and how visitors navigate the website. We use this information to improve the user experience on our website. Performance cookies may also relate to information such as the browser and operating system used, the website last visited, the number of visits, the average time spent on the site and the pages visited. We generally analyse this data in aggregated form. We use Google Analytics for this purpose.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 129, §1 of the Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Belgian law does not exempt analytics or audience-measurement cookies from the consent requirement. We therefore place these cookies only after you have consented to them, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

2.4 Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies — also known as targeting or advertising cookies — are used to display advertisements that are relevant to you and your interests, including on third-party websites. They are also used to limit the number of times you are shown a particular advertisement and to measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. These cookies build a profile of your interests based on your browsing behavior, and may be read by the third parties that place them.

Third-party cookies and recipients of the data
Some of the cookies described above are placed by third parties, who receive the data those cookies generate and may process it for their own purposes as well as ours. The provider of each third-party cookie is identified in the “Provider / recipient” column of the tables in section 2, together with a link to that provider's own cookie or privacy information.
We do not sell the data generated by cookies.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some of the third-party providers identified in section 2 are established outside the European Economic Area, or process the data on servers located outside the EEA. Where that is the case, the transfer takes place on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission covering the country or certification concerned (Article 45 GDPR) or, where no adequacy decision applies, on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, supplemented by additional safeguards where necessary (Article 46 GDPR). The mechanism applicable to each provider is indicated in the tables in section 2.

How long is the data kept?
The tables in section 2 state how long each cookie remains stored on your device. That lifespan is the maximum period after which the cookie expires automatically, unless you delete it earlier.
The data collected through cookies is retained for the following periods: [insert retention period per category or per provider].

Profiling and automated decision-making
The marketing cookies described in section 2.4 involve profiling: your browsing behaviour is used to infer your likely interests and to select the advertisements shown to you. This profiling does not lead to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. You can prevent it altogether by refusing marketing cookies, or by withdrawing your consent to them at any time.

How can you change your cookie settings or withdraw your consent?
7.1 Our cookie preference center
You can give, refuse, change or withdraw your consent for individual cookies or categories of cookies at any time — and just as easily as you gave it — by clicking the following button:
Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal. Withdrawal takes effect for the future: cookies that are already stored on your device are not deleted automatically. To remove cookies that have already been placed, use your browser settings as described in section 7.2.
7.2 Your browser settings
You can also change the cookie settings in your browser at any time and, for example, deactivate or delete cookies altogether. Please note that if you deactivate cookies altogether, you may no longer be able to use certain functions of our website, or may not be able to use them in full.

Your browser settings are an additional means of control. They do not replace the choices you make in our preference centre, and a browser setting on its own does not constitute valid consent to non-essential cookies.

Your rights
In so far as the data processed through cookies constitutes personal data, you have the right to request access to that data, to have it rectified or erased, to have its processing restricted, to object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and to receive the data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR). Where the processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time (Article 7(3) GDPR), as described in section 7.
